Chapter 128
William listened to Harry's report over the phone, feeling a tightness in his chest that made it hard to breathe.
After hanging up, he threw his phone onto the passenger seat with force, slammed his foot on the gas pedal, and his black Maybach shot through the crowded streets of Silvermist City like an arrow.
Victoria had just walked through the gates of her apartment complex when her phone buzzed. She pulled it out and saw an anonymous email.
Her brow furrowed slightly, a sense of unease washing over her.
She opened the email and saw an attached video file. After a moment of hesitation, she clicked on it.
The video sent a chill down her spine.
In the footage, Lyanna was dragging a suitcase, clearly just off a plane.
Suddenly, an angry mob surrounded her, shouting insults and accusing her of being a homewrecker.
Lyanna's face went pale as she tried to explain, her voice trembling and urgent, "No, it's not like that, you've got it all wrong."
But the furious crowd didn't give her a chance to explain.
Lyanna looked around desperately, searching for an escape, but all she heard were more accusations and insults.
Someone reached out and shoved her hard. Lyanna stumbled, nearly falling.
She struggled to keep her balance, but more hands reached out, pushing her.
"Listen to me, I really didn't..." Lyanna tried to defend herself again, but before she could finish, a slap landed hard on her face.
The crowd's insults grew louder, and someone started tearing at her clothes.
Lyanna screamed, trying to shield herself with her arms, but she was overpowered.
Her coat was ripped open, and her shirt was torn.
"Stop! Please stop!" Lyanna fell to her knees, trying to cover herself with her hands.
Victoria watched the video, feeling a cold chill run through her body.
She stared at the screen, horrified by the violence inflicted on Lyanna.
She knew that with Lyanna's background, there was no way she would be someone's mistress.
This had to be a setup.
And there was only one person crazy enough to do something like this.
But who sent her this email?
She tried replying: [Who are you?]
The response came quickly: [Guess.]
Victoria: [Ella?]
Ella: [You're smart!]
Victoria frowned and replied: [Why did you send this to me?]
Ella: [Wanted to see you scared. How does it feel? Exciting?]
Victoria clenched her fists. [What do you want?]
Ella: [I sent the video, but I didn't do this. You should know who did, right?]
Victoria: [Besides your sister Alice, I can't think of anyone else.]
Ella: [Exactly. I just wanted to show you what that lunatic Alice is capable of. Lyanna was just William's secretary for a few days, but you're different. Be careful.]
With that, Ella closed the email, leaving Victoria with no further response.
Victoria knew Ella wasn't warning her out of kindness. She just wanted to stir up trouble between her and Alice, hoping to benefit from the chaos. But Victoria wasn't foolish enough to charge ahead because of this threat. Alice had become dangerously unhinged. And now that Victoria had decided to be with Samuel, she didn't want to get involved in the mess between Alice, Ella, and William.
Taking a deep breath, Victoria headed home. As soon as she opened the door, she sensed something was off. She turned to run, but a powerful force slammed into her, pinning her against the door. A distinct male scent filled her nostrils, and she looked up to see William towering over her. A strong, oppressive aura emanated from him.
She looked up, meeting William's icy gaze. William stood in the doorway, one hand pinning Victoria against the door, the other holding a cigarette, its tip glowing in the dim light. He wore a light brown sweater, his expression as cold as a winter frost.
He spoke with a chilling tone, "Why are you running?"
Victoria froze, then struggled to break free, but William's grip was too strong. "William, let me go. You're hurting me."
William's deep, raspy voice carried a mocking tone, "Do you know how excited I get every time you say it hurts in bed?"
His breath brushed against Victoria's skin, sending a shiver through her body. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she gritted her teeth, "William, don't you dare."
William scoffed, "What if I do?"
With that, he hoisted Victoria over his shoulder and strode towards the bedroom. Victoria was terrified, "No! William, put me down! You're crazy, put me down."
She struggled, but William's strength was overwhelming. He threw her onto the soft bed, leaving her dizzy. In the next moment, William was on top of her, one knee pinning her down, his hand gripping her wrists, holding her in place.
His gaze was sharp as a knife, "Victoria, didn't I tell you not to see other men this month? Yet here you are, rushing back from Harborview City to take care of another man."
William's hot breath on her neck made her body heat up. She turned her face away, not answering.
William sneered, "Even a streetwalker has some professional ethics. You have none!"
His words cut deep, and Victoria's eyes filled with tears. She stopped struggling, biting her lip, "Yes, I'm just a whore. Do what you want."
William's eyes narrowed, and he felt an inexplicable irritation seeing her tear-streaked face. He released her wrists, standing up and stepping back. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a tissue, his expression dark, "You think I want to touch you? You're nothing but a used-up toy to me."
Victoria's tears fell again at his words. She pressed her lips together, saying nothing.
