Chapter 29
"You'll stay as long as I say." Michael raised an eyebrow, clearly not planning to let her off the hook. "As for the child, isn't that what you wanted most from me?"
"Isabella, my patience is limited." Michael's calm demeanor belied the cold-blooded words he spoke.
Isabella knew that if she didn't sign, Daniel's condition wouldn't hold until she found Sean.
In front of Michael, she had no choice.
"Fine." If signing could save Daniel, she was willing to be used as a bargaining chip.
Isabella quickly signed her name and then looked at Michael urgently, "My grandfather received a critical condition notice at the hospital. Where is Sean now?"
Michael glanced at his watch, "He's already at the hospital."
"You..." Isabella realized she had been played.
He had planned everything, just waiting for her to fall into the trap.
Bastard! How could she have trusted him?
Michael acted as if he didn't notice her change in expression. He put away the agreement, stood up, and looked down at her, "Go take a shower."
The oppressive look in his eyes was just like last night when she had drugged him at the company.
Isabella shivered involuntarily.
The agreement was already signed.
Now, whatever Michael did to her was justified.
As long as Daniel was okay, she didn't care!
She would just consider it as sleeping with a top male model. It wouldn't have to be a loss for her.
Isabella went into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
But she didn't know that the bathroom door was semi-transparent, and her graceful figure was faintly visible to Michael inside the room.
Michael's throat tightened.
He had only intended to provoke her, but now he was the one suffering.
Her scent still lingered at his nose, and Michael felt restless. He had to light a cigarette to suppress his desire.
Inside the bathroom.
Isabella deliberately slowed down. Just then, her phone rang.
It was Daniel's subordinate, Chris.
Isabella quickly grabbed a towel and answered the call.
She was afraid something had happened to Daniel.
Fortunately, the news was good. Chris said, "Ms. Taylor, Mr. Wilson's surgery was successful. The doctor said he's not in immediate danger."
"Really? My grandfather is finally out of danger." Isabella sighed in relief.
Chris continued, "Ms. Taylor, Mr. Daniel Wilson is still unconscious. The Wilson Group is unstable and needs someone to take charge. Also, the Brown Group is pressing hard. The Group is in a difficult situation."
Isabella instinctively glanced outside while holding the phone.
She whispered to Chris, "Chris, inform everyone that I will attend the shareholders' meeting tomorrow on time. Also, put the southern expansion on hold. We'll discuss everything after my grandfather recovers."
At times like this, she needed to stay calm.
With Daniel absent, she had to guard everything at the Wilson Group.
As long as she was there, she wouldn't let anyone take it away.
Once Daniel's condition stabilized, she wouldn't let Michael get away.
Chris said, "Understood. One more thing, Mr. Holden Wilson's search for Sean has been discovered by Mr. Brown's people. He might already be suspicious of you. If he finds out about Mr. Daniel Wilson, your identity will be exposed. Since Mr. Brown will find out sooner or later, why not tell him yourself? That way, Mr. Brown won't target the Wilson Group anymore."
Tell Michael?
That thought had never crossed her mind.
This agreement was temporary. Once Daniel recovered, she would still divorce him.
That wouldn't change.
If she took over the Wilson Group, she and Michael would be business rivals in the future, possibly competing for projects.
"Chris, I'll handle this. Don't worry about him. Remember to pick me up early tomorrow." Ending the call, Isabella felt much better.
The heavy burden on her heart was finally lifted.
She knew Sean's capabilities. With him, there would be a way to cure Daniel.
Feeling relaxed, she took a comfortable shower and even started singing.
Michael, sitting on the bed, heard the singing and thought he was hearing things. She wasn't like this when she signed the agreement. Was it because of Daniel?
Just finding Sean made her content.
It seemed he owed her too much in the past.
Shaking his head, he stubbed out his cigarette and left the room.
When Isabella came out of the bathroom, she realized she had no change of clothes, and the only set she had was wet.
She decided to pick a white shirt from Michael's wardrobe.
Michael, being nearly 6 feet tall, had shirts that Isabella could wear as a dress, just long enough to cover her butt, eliminating the need for pants.
Buttoning up, she casually tossed her long hair, revealing her slender neck and collarbone.
The collar was too wide for her, exposing half of her shoulder to the air.
Her skin was delicate and alluring.
"I'm so good-looking with a great figure. Everybody loves me. Michael must be blind." Isabella couldn't help but sigh in front of the mirror.
After that, she shook her head, thinking of Michael who could appear at any moment, and wrapped herself in a bathrobe.
Michael was about to enter when he heard her words, and couldn't help but twitch his mouth.
The next second, Michael walked in and saw Isabella wrapped tightly in a bathrobe, only her long legs exposed.
His eyes darkened.
Isabella cleared her throat, "I'm done. If you don't need anything, I'll go to another room."
After last night's ordeal, she was extremely sleep-deprived.
But she knew the agreement only allowed her to stay here, not necessarily in his room.
Just as she was about to leave, Michael stopped her. "Stay."
"What is it?" she asked.
"Playing dumb won't work with me. Come here!" Michael's eyes narrowed, not buying her act. He patted his thigh, "Sit here. You know what to do, don't you?"
Isabella gritted her teeth, knowing Michael was getting back at her for last night.
But she had no choice.
It was frustrating.
She walked over slowly.
Avoiding eye contact, she sat on his lap, took a deep breath, and pushed Michael from the bed's edge onto the bed.
Her hands pressed against his chest.
Michael's eyes darkened, his suppressed desire ignited by her actions.
He gripped her waist and smirked, "You're so eager?"
"Take it easy, there's more to come." Isabella straddled his lean waist, her bathrobe slipping halfway off, the shirt underneath barely covering the essentials.
But it couldn't hide her alluring curves.
