As Layla was about to open the backseat door, Samuel's cold voice rang out, "Do you really think I'm your driver?"

Layla realized it was a bit rude and got into the passenger seat instead.

In the car, Layla felt puzzled. Although Samuel was a sex worker, he was wealthy, and everyone treated him with utmost respect. He traveled in luxury cars, drank million-dollar wines, and wore suits and watches that looked like high-end brands.

Moreover, he had not only money but also good taste. Every move he made exuded the elegance of someone from a noble family.

Appearances could be packaged, but true elegance couldn't be faked.

She couldn't help but wonder, 'Is he really a sex worker?'

Samuel sensed Layla's scrutinizing gaze. She didn't hide it at all; her thoughts were written all over her face.

For him, this was a good trait that made him want to speak up.

"Am I so good-looking that you can't stop staring?" Samuel smiled teasingly.

Layla blushed. She said, "Don't flatter yourself. I was looking at the scenery outside." She quickly changed the subject. "What did you ask me earlier?"

Samuel replied, "I asked if you can drive. I want to know what else you can do so I can maximize your potential. You can't come up with five hundred thousand dollars right now, can you?"

Yes, she had to admit, she only had seven hundred dollars left in her account. Five hundred thousand dollars was an astronomical figure for her.

He remarked, "All your potential will be developed over time."

With that, Layla felt immense pressure.

'Five hundred thousand dollars... With my current salary, how long would it take to pay it off?' She thought.

Her face fell with worry.

Samuel glanced at her and asked, "What? Not happy?" He was in a good mood but kept his usual stern expression.

Layla snapped, "Of course. Who's happy about owing money?"

He replied, "I wouldn't know. I've never owed anyone."

Hearing such an infuriating comment, Layla wanted to scratch him.

He said, "From now on, I'm your creditor. You can't avoid interacting with me."

Layla felt even more desperate. She yelled, "This is just too miserable."

However, this was a stroke of luck that other women would kill for.

Samuel found Layla increasingly interesting.

As soon as the car arrived at the company, Layla couldn't wait to get out and went up to the thirtieth floor.

James was reliable. He had already placed the electric car keys on her desk with a note: "The car is fixed."

Layla went into the office to report her work.

Molly was touching up her makeup and scolded her discontentedly, "Why did it take so long to deliver a contract? Are you slacking off on your first day?"

Layla didn't offer much explanation and said, "Sorry, it was my fault."

Molly ordered, "Don't let it happen again! I'm going out. Prepare the materials for tomorrow's meeting and send them to my email."

Then, Molly left without giving Layla her email address or any meeting topics or related content.

Layla had to figure it out on her own.

At the end of the workday, Alice came over and gave her a few pointers. She said, "Molly is notoriously difficult to please. Assistants usually last a week at most; no one can stand her."

Layla said, "I should thank her for changing assistants so often. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the chance to get into the company."

Alice asked, "Seems you're optimist."

Layla smiled and replied, "Not really. Everything has two sides, and everyone sees things differently."

Even when Vincent cheated, she was glad he did it early. It would have been worse if he had cheated after they got married.

The only thing she couldn't find any pros in was getting involved with that sex worker.

Her first sexual experience was with a handsome guy. However, he was a sex worker who had probably been with countless women. His skills were so poor, which showed his lack of ambition. If it were not for his handsome face, he probably had no regular clients.

Layla finished the materials by eight o'clock and went downstairs to wait for the bus.
