Layla's legs trembled, and she almost knelt down in embarrassment.

Samuel's eyes grew deeper, and his voice became hoarse. "How will you apologize to me?"

Layla chuckled nervously, "Mr. Holland, you're a big shot with a broad mind. You wouldn't bother with a lowly intern like me."

Samuel didn't buy it. "But what if I do mind?"

Then you're narrow-minded, Layla thought, but she dared not say it aloud.

In this enclosed space, she was in a dangerous position and had to tread carefully with her words.

Furrowing her brows, Layla felt a sense of danger in his ambitious gaze, making her heart race. She couldn't continue to entangle herself with him, or she would sink deeper. He had already had her body, who knows what else he still wanted to take from her?

Tonight, she would move out. Layla made up her mind.

Molly had left, so she should be able to apply for her own dorm room. She would go back to school for a few days, and if all else failed, she would stay at a cheap inn. In any case, she couldn't live with him anymore.

"Ding," The elevator doors opened.

Samuel let go of her and walked out of the elevator first.

How could an ordinary employee enter the CEO's office?

The door closed automatically.

Layla felt like a small rabbit in a dangerous situation. The CEO's office was huge, but the air pressure made it difficult for her to breathe.

Samuel sat down in the large chair with a towering skyscraper behind him. The sunlight coated him in gold, emphasizing his handsome features and exuding an aura of dominance.

Could this temperament be feigned? Layla questioned her own naïveté for mistaking him for a male escort.

It had been almost five minutes, and he still hadn't said anything. His smile, which was more like a smirk, made her feel uneasy.

"Raise your head. I'm not on the floor," he said.

Helplessly, Layla lifted her head, her eyes welling up with tears.

It felt as if he was teasing her, and Samuel seemed to enjoy it.

"If there is nothing else, I'll go back to my office..."

"Who said I have nothing? Come inside." Samuel walked into the nearby lounge.

In broad daylight, he wouldn't... Layla's mind was blanketed with wicked thoughts, leaving her face pale.

"I have something to attend to, so I need to leave." Layla said, preparing to make an escape, only to be caught by the man who lifted her up.

"Samuel, hm." His name, when spoken by her, sounded pleasant. Samuel's heart trembled.

"Didn't you say before that I was pretending? Even boasting should have its limits, right?"

With a determined face, Layla firmly replied, "I won't engage in that kind of activity with you in the office during broad daylight. Don't even think about it, even if you're the CEO!"

"What kind of activity?" Samuel deliberately asked, teasing her to bring himself some relief after a hard day's work.

"I can't be the first woman you've thrown onto this bed." Layla sneered.

Samuel chuckled. But his smile was always faint, even when he laughed, making it difficult to perceive. "Then, what do you think - how many women? What number do you think you are?"

His breath was too close, and his face was exceedingly handsome. Layla couldn't help but shrink her neck. She admitted that he was good at seducing; no woman could resist this proximity, except her. She was young, but that didn't mean she was ignorant and could be easily manipulated.

Getting serious, Layla said in a stern tone, "Mr. Holland, please don't treat me as an experimental subject. I believe you've used these tactics on more than just me."

Only foolish women would think they were unique. Wise as she was, Layla knew she was just a small fish in his pond.
