Silence fell inside the car.
The driver secretly observed the two through the rearview mirror.
Adrian Sinclair suddenly spoke. "I want to see where you live." His deep eyes locked onto her, as if trying to pull her in.
Anna Ross's breath hitched.
Although his behavior had been proper since arriving in New York, nothing like before.
His unpredictable nature still made her fearful.
She reminded him softly. "Mr. Sinclair, it's very late."
"If you don't return soon, Grandpa will worry."
She didn't believe he would insist after bringing up his grandfather.
"He wouldn't worry about such a small matter." His breath brushed past her, carrying a faint scent of alcohol.
Anna glanced at him helplessly.
Sensing her tension, Adrian chuckled lowly.
His voice was deep and mesmerizing. "What's wrong?"
"Can't I even see the apartment I rented?"
Anna wanted to refute, but his words left her speechless.

Seeing her no longer refusing, Adrian instructed the driver. "To the Bay Area."
