"Adrian, I'll get back to work then. Call me if you need anything." She adopted a thoughtful and understanding demeanor, her gaze lingering on him with reluctance.

He took a sip before setting it down again.
Gazing down at the bustling crowd below, he narrowed his eyes.
He refused to believe she would do such a thing.
If someone had set her up, he would find out who.

A knock sounded at the door.

"Mr. Sinclair, what do you need?"
Adrian turned and sat back in his executive chair, his expression serious.
"Investigate the company's data breach."
"Understood." Noah accepted the order immediately.
Adrian waved him away.
Noah bowed slightly and left.
Passing Anna's empty workstation, he couldn't help but glance at it.
Anna sat at her desk, restless and distracted.
