Chloe Valentine was forced to tilt her head up.
Anna Ross’s gaze was like an ice pick.
She tried to stand.
But Anna blocked her path first.
Damn it.
She was being overpowered.
Chloe clenched her fingers.
She forced an innocent expression. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"The documents were always in your possession."
"Who should be blamed now that this has happened?"
Colleagues around them turned to look.
Anna returned to her workstation.
Her voice was soft. "What you say doesn't matter."
"But you'd better hope I don't find any evidence."
Chloe suddenly smiled.
She leaned close to Anna's ear.
Her breath was cold. "You won't find it."
"You'll never find it."
Anna's fingers trembled slightly.
So it was her.
Chloe straightened up.
Her smile was bright. "Good luck."
The sound of high heels faded away.
Anna closed her eyes.
The challenge had been issued.
It would only get harder from here.

Noah Watson stood before the desk.
He hesitated. "Mr. Sinclair, we found something."
Adrian Sinclair looked up. "Speak."
"The data was indeed leaked from the Creative Department."
"It was sent from a specific computer."
Noah's tone was uncertain.
His eyes avoided direct contact.
Adrian frowned. "Who?"
"It was Executive Assistant Ross."
Noah handed over the records.
Black and white on paper.
Clear and glaring.
Adrian stared at the report.
His knuckles turned white.
"I don't believe it."
His voice was low.
Noah nodded. "I don't either."
"There must be some misunderstanding."
Adrian put the report away.
He locked it in a drawer.
"Keep this confidential."
"Suppress it for now."
Noah acknowledged and left.
Silence filled the office.
Adrian looked out the window.
