Adrian Sinclair leaned against the headboard.
His phone screen glowed softly.
He had just finished showering.
Water droplets still dripped from his hair.

Adrian helped his grandfather inside.
The old man patted his hand.
"I haven't been sleeping well these past few days."
"I heard you were back."
"So I came to see you."
Adrian closed the window.
The night breeze was chilly.
Grandpa had just recovered.
He couldn't catch a cold.
He poured a glass of warm water for his grandfather.
"Howard came to New York today."
Grandpa looked up in surprise.
"What did he come for?"
Mentioning Howard Lowell made the old man frown.
Other families had children who were ambitious.
His son only knew how to squander money.

Adrian spoke calmly.
"He accompanied Vivian to see their daughter."

Grandpa stroked his beard.
"That girl named Anna Ross?"
Adrian lowered his head to drink water.
His hair covered his eyes.
He nodded slightly.
He didn't want to talk about her.
Grandpa was biased against her.
Fortunately, the old man didn't ask further.
He only sighed.
"Having a daughter is better than having nothing."
