He stubbed it out and walked toward the bed.

Sophia took a step back, startled. "Were you stealing last night? Those dark circles are huge!"

"I had nightmares all night."
She leaned against the headboard, exhausted.
Sophia burst out laughing.
"Let me get you some water."

Warm water soothed her throat.
Her mind cleared slightly.

"But we have to go see my mom today..."

Anna felt dizzy trying to apply makeup. "Sophia, please sit down for a while."

"I'm nervous. Moving around makes me feel better."
