Isabella's fists were clenched tightly. What right did Michael have!

She sneered coldly, "I can help you recall. We proposed our divorce agreement a month ago. As long as you sign it, we have no more ties. So, whatever I do and whoever I meet have to do with you!"

Her indifferent attitude made Michael very unhappy. He grabbed her face, asserting his dominance. "Let me tell you, as long as I don't agree to the divorce, you are still mine, the Mrs. Brown of this house. Got it?"

Isabella's mouth hurt from his grip.

She couldn't say a word.

Suddenly, she thought of something, squinted at Michael, and changed her expression, "Michael, are you trying so hard to keep me because you've really fallen in love with me?"

Her eyes were seductive, and her slender fingers climbed up his big hand, teasing him subtly.

Michael's eyes flickered.

Isabella's mocking smile grew more triumphant, "Looks like I am right."

Michael's expression changed, and he quickly withdrew his hand from hers, his tone somewhat defensive, "Isabella, can you be any more narcissistic? I'm not divorcing you for the sake of family interests. The mess you're making affects not only the Brown Family's reputation but also the stock price. Any losses will be on you."

Isabella tilted her head and looked at him.

She wanted to know what he was really thinking.

Michael said, "Don't forget, we have an agreement. If you dare to leave without my consent, how do you think that will be settled? And also settle Sean's consultation fee."

This made Isabella angry.

He knew Daniel was seriously ill and needed surgery urgently, yet he deliberately hid Sean to blackmail her.

In the end, he was just a businessman, and everything revolved around money.

Isabella said, "You just want money, right? How much do you want? I'll pay you, and we'll be even!"

Michael raised an eyebrow. She loved money so much that it was surprising to hear such words from her.

But Thomas seem to be quite wealthy, he wanted to see how far Thomas would go for her.

"Ten billion dollars!" Michael's voice was firm.

Isabella was stunned on the spot.

She stared at him with wide eyes, "Ten billion dollars? Do you think I'm a cash cow? Why don't you go rob a bank!"

She had truly underestimated Michael's moral bottom line.

She took a deep breath and charged at him, gritting her teeth, "Dream on. I won't give you any money."

Isabella cursed Michael while looking for clothes.

Outside, Michael listened to Isabella cursing him inside and had no intention of leaving. He sat down on a chair by the window.

He slowly listened to her curse to her heart's content.

Inside, Isabella dried her hair and changed into pajamas before coming out. She looked up and saw Michael sitting by the window, legs crossed, watching her.

His eyes looked weird.

She felt a bit guilty. Could it be that he had heard her cursing for so long?

Impossible. Michael was such a proud man. He would have smashed the door if he did. How could he endure until now?

"What are you doing sitting here? Aren't you leaving?" Isabella said.

Michael opened his mouth, the words circling in his mouth before he finally spoke, "Since you can't come up with the money to compensate for my losses, then stay as Mrs. Brown. That's the identity you should have. Remember that!"

Isabella's anger, which had just subsided, surged again.

How could he have the nerve to say such things!

Before she could retort, her phone on the table suddenly rang.

She took a deep breath, glared at Michael, and picked it up, "Who is it?"

A polite male voice came from the other end, "Is this Ms. Taylor? I'm Aiden's personal lawyer. There's something important I need to discuss with you."

Hearing it was someone from Aiden, Isabella's voice softened, "Go ahead."

"Mr. Brown's previous instructions have been sorted out. Do you have time tomorrow to sign the stock transfer agreement?"

The voice on the phone wasn't loud, but Isabella immediately felt Michael's sharp gaze.

How could she not know what he was thinking?

Those were his tests just now. The shares Aiden gave were the real deal.

If she really accepted Aiden's gift, Michael would be truly anxious!

After all, he was the one sitting in the heir's position. Taking those shares would be like taking his life.

"I don't have time, and I won't sign." She was just placating Aiden at the time. If she really took those shares, Michael would never let her go.

The lawyer was troubled, "Ms. Taylor, you know Mr. Brown's health hasn't been good lately, and he's often worried. If you refuse his gift again, it might worsen his health."

Isabella fell silent.

Aiden's poor condition was partly her fault. If his health worsened because of her, she would feel even more guilty.

After a moment, she took a deep breath, "Alright, I'll go over tomorrow."

She knew that if she refused here, Aiden would get the news in less than a minute.

She could only compromise for now.

Strangely, Michael didn't say anything, not even showing any extra expression.

Isabella thought he would continue to mock her.

Seeing him silent, she put down her phone and cleared her throat, "I'm going to rest. You shouldn't stay here."

Seeing her expression, Michael's lips curled into a mischievous smile, "This is my bedroom too. Why should I leave? I'm going to sleep."

Isabella was speechless.

Seeing his determined look, she nodded, "Fine, I'm going to sleep. Do as you please."

After all, he had never been interested in her. In their three years of marriage, they had shared a bed doing nothing before.

She wasn't afraid of it

Isabella pulled up the covers and lay down. After a while, she heard the sound of water from the bathroom.

She couldn't remember when Michael lay down.

But she was still familiar with his cold scent.

At night, Isabella woke up thirsty and got up to find water.

She sat up and realized that the only blanket on the bed was rolled up under her. Michael, on the other side, was only wearing a dark black robe, with nothing underneath.

He actually stayed.

It was autumn, and the temperature was a bit low.

The air conditioning wasn't on, and Michael's tall figure lay there, curled up, hugging himself, looking strangely pitiful.
