Chapter 8

Isabella's heart tightened, and a sour feeling spread throughout her body.

All these years, what had she been holding on for Michael?

She forcefully shook off his grip, took a step back, and a sarcastic smile appeared on her lips. "You're right, everything was voluntary on my part. So, Mr. Brown, just sign the papers. You go find your lover Bianca, and I'll find my lover. We won't hold each other back, isn't that better?"

Michael stood there quietly, his eyes deeply fixed on her, exuding an imposing aura. "You think hiring Ryan to sue me will work? I told you, as long as I want, you won't get anything from me. Do you want to be Mrs. Brown, or get divorced and end up with nothing? Think it over."

"Since we can't come to an agreement, see you in court." Isabella said no more, took out her phone, and sent a message.

Just as she was about to leave, Michael's voice came from behind.

"All your cards are frozen. Even if you walk out that door, where will you go? With one call, no hotel in Evergreen City will take you in."

Isabella, with her back to him, bit her lip. "Michael. I'd rather sleep on the streets than go home with you."

Her phone rang. She picked it up and said hello, her nose tingling at the familiar voice. "You said you were nearby, why aren't you here yet?"

"Look at the entrance."

Isabella instinctively looked up.

Thomas got out of the car, walking briskly towards her in a sharp suit. "Isabella."

Seeing Thomas, Isabella let down all her defenses, quickly stepped forward, and took his arm without a word.

Thomas patted her head reassuringly.

He asked her what was wrong.

Isabella only said that Michael had frozen her bank cards and she had nowhere to go. Thomas's face changed instantly.

He coldly looked at Michael standing not far away.

Then he took Isabella to the front desk, pulled out a card from his pocket in front of Michael.

"I'll pay for her room." Thomas was full of authority, and the manager didn't dare refuse.

Then he signed and took Isabella away without giving Michael a second glance.

Everyone was stunned.

No one expected Thomas to suddenly appear and pay for Isabella's room right in front of Michael.

They thought Thomas and Isabella must be quite close.

Michael's eyes were fixed on Isabella and Thomas's intimate posture.

His deep voice was full of pressure, "Ryan, you dare take my divorce case? You are risking your career of so many years."

Michael recongnized Thomas's voice.

It was the voice from the call he made today.

Thomas protected Isabella with his hand, his expression unchanged, and looked at Michael with a cold smile, "You talk tough, but you don't even know who I am. Michael, do you think you can fight me? I'll just assume Isabella watsed her three years on you. As long as I'm here, you won't win this case."

With that, he took Isabella and left directly.

The people in the hotel were scared, no one dared to move.

A group of men in black came out of the elevator, the leader walked up to Michael, "Mr. Brown, we've moved him out of the country as you instructed. Without your orders, he won't appear in Evergreen City again."

The car outside sped away, and Michael's face grew darker. "Find out who that person was just now, and who Isabella has been in contact with this past year. I want all the information in an hour."

"Yes, Mr. Brown."

In the car, Isabella and Thomas sat in the back seat. Thomas was both worried and angry, "You dare bring any man into the hotel? Aren't you afraid he might be a scammer?"

Thomas had been worried all the way here.

Fortunately, nothing happened, otherwise, he wouldn't know how to explain to Daniel.

Isabella knew Thomas was worried about her, so she held his arm and carefully explained, "Thomas, you misunderstood. I paid a high price to find that man. His looks and physique are top-notch, and his education and family background have been checked. The child born would definitely be smart and good-looking."

Unfortunately, Michael ruined it.

"By the way, Thomas, please save that man. He was taken away by Michael."

Michael was ruthless, something might really happen.

"Now you are worried?" Thomas squinted, "Don't worry, he wouldn't dare take a life. At most, he'll teach him a lesson and kick him out. But you, how will you face him if you push him too far?"

Isabella just sighed in relief, but was stunned by his words. "What do you mean?"

Thomas said, "Daniel has asked for you and Michael to visit him together, or he won't continue his treatment. You know his wish is to see your child before he dies. If he knows you filed for divorce, he might get furious."

Daniel was known for his bad temper.

Only Isabella, his granddaughter, could manage him. None of his sons dared to go against him.

"Grandpa is throwing a tantrum again. Thomas, why didn't you say earlier?" Thinking of the harsh words she just said, Isabella felt a wave of darkness, "The divorce papers have been sent. How can I bring Michael to see Grandpa?"

"True, I don't that the way he talk." Thomas was also angry just now and couldn't hold back. "Daniel is getting old and his health is deteriorating. The doctor said he can't take too much stress. So, I think it's better to keep the divorce from him for now."

Hearing about Daniel's condition, Isabella felt terrible.

She hadn't been able to visit Daniel because she was busy with the Brown Family's birthday party.

She could only hear his voice on the phone, not knowing he was just comforting her. "Thomas, I understand. I won't let Grandpa know about this."

Just then, her phone rang.

It was Michael's grandfather, Aiden.

Aiden was the only one in the Brown Family who truly cared for her.

Isabella would never ignore his call.

On the phone, Aiden's voice was gentle and loving, "Isabella, I know you've been wronged and are feeling sad. Come home. Don't worry, you have me."

Isabella's eyes turned red, her voice choked with tears, "Aiden."

"It's not your fault, Isabella." Aiden understood everything, "It's all Michael's fault. Don't worry, I'll always be on your side. I've already told him, if he dares divorce you, he won't get a penny of the Brown Family's inheritance. He can get lost."

Isabella paused.

No wonder Michael was making things difficult and wouldn't divorce.

It was all for himself.

She had been deluding herself.

But Aiden's support still moved Isabella deeply.

Isabella said, "Aiden, even if I'm not with Michael, I'll still consider you my family. Whenever you want to see me, I'll come."

"Why not now?" Aiden's voice was sincere, "I'm really worried about you being out there alone."
