Chapter 9

"Aiden, I'm planning to visit my grandpa now. Can I come back later?" Isabella didn't want to hurt Aiden's feelings too much, so she planned to visit when Michael wasn't around.

"Daniel?" Aiden seemed shocked, "Isabella, you didn't tell Daniel about the divorce with Michael, did you?"

"No, Aiden, can you help me keep it from him too? I don't want him to worry." Isabella knew about the close relationship between Aiden and Daniel.

They had known each other since they were young.

The marriage arrangement was made back then.

"I was just about to tell you, Daniel called me." Aiden's tone was tense, "It sounded like he heard something. He insisted I send him a photo of you two together. I told him you two went out to have fun, so he didn't press further. But I have a feeling Daniel will call again tonight. If the truth comes out, I'm really afraid he'll rush over here. Isabella, come back first, and we'll figure out how to keep it from Daniel together, okay?"

Isabella's heart tightened.

She wasn't afraid of Daniel coming to the Brown Family to find her.

She was genuinely worried about Daniel's health.

After a few seconds, Isabella finally relented, "Alright, Aiden, I'll come over in a bit."

"Okay, I'll be waiting for you at home." Aiden said.

After ending the call, Isabella asked Thomas to take her back to the Brown Family.

The car was small, and Thomas had heard everything from the phone call.

Given Daniel's condition, even he didn't dare take the risk.

He instructed the driver to turn back to the Brown Family.

When the car stopped outside the Brown Villa, Isabella asked Thomas to leave.

As soon as she entered, she heard laughter from the hall.

Led by Stella, many wealthy ladies from the circle had gathered.

Isabella immediately noticed two women sitting next to Stella.

Bianca and her mother, Harper, who used to be a mistress.

Harper was wearing a bright red dress, with heavy makeup, looking obsequiously at Stella, talking.

Stella glanced at Bianca, who immediately blushed.

As she turned, she saw Isabella coming in from outside.

Bianca's eyes flickered, and she pretended to speak unintentionally, "Stella, please don't say that. Michael married Isabella. I can't mess with Michael now."

"Why not?" Stella had no fondness for Isabella and would be the happiest if they divorced. "Michael liked you back then. If she hadn't insisted on bringing the marriage contract to Mr. Brown, I might have had a grandchild by now. I make the decisions here. Once she divorces, she won't get anything. I'll immediately go to the Taylor Family to arrange the marriage between you and Michael."

As soon as Stella finished speaking, Isabella walked past her without even a glance.

In front of so many people, Isabella didn't show her any respect.

"Stop!" Stella's face changed, and she shouted at Isabella, "You've been out all night. Where have you been messing around? Can't you see who's here? Your mother Harper and your sister Bianca are here, and you don't even notice?"

Isabella turned coldly, "My real mother is dead. It would be strange if I saw her."

"You..." Stella got pissed off.

Harper tried to mediate softly, "Mrs. Brown, please don't be angry. Isabella has always misunderstood me. I'm used to it."

"Misunderstood?" Isabella sneered, stopping in her tracks, "Come on, tell me, what misunderstanding could I have about a mistress who climbed up using her body? How dare you call yourself my mother in front of me? You don't deserve it."

In front of outsiders, Harper had to hold back her anger, "It's not like that, Isabella. We heard you and Michael were having issues and wanted to check on you. Indigo misses you too and wants you to come home."

"Which home? The Taylor Family's house that you and your daughter have taken over?"

Isabella's eyes grew colder, "Or have you forgotten how you schemed to drive me out? Now you come to act in front of me. Harper, even if you don't find it disgusting, I do."

Just five days after Grace's death, her hypocritical father Indigo brought Harper and Bianca, who was about her age, into the Taylor Family.

She was drowning in the grief of losing Grace, and Bianca and Harper seized the opportunity.

If Daniel hadn't taken her away, she might not have survived.

Later, to give Michael a good impression, she married into the Brown Family and had been avoiding any contact with them for three years.

Even when Michael secretly supported the Taylor Family, she endured it.

But now, they had come to act in front of her.

Since that was the case, she saw no need to endure any longer. "By the way, the villa you're living in now belongs to my mother. It's time for you to leave."

Hearing this, Harper and Bianca turned pale.

Sitting in the middle, Stella slammed the table, "You're too much. They are your mother and sister. Is this how you talk to them? You say Harper is a mistress, but do you know that everyone in Evergreen City knows it was Grace who cheated first? She couldn't keep Indigo, so why blame Harper?"

Stella didn't want to see Isabella anymore.

Her bright red nails pointed at Isabella a few feet away, "I shouldn't have let Michael marry you. Get out now. Someone, throw her out."

The servants and the butler exchanged glances, remaining still.

Everyone in the Brown Family knew that although Isabella wasn't favored by Michael, she was important to Aiden.

Whenever there was something good, Aiden would let Isabella choose first, even before Stella.

Finally, the butler had to step in, "Mrs. Stella Brown, Mr. Brown was just asking about Isabella. If he can't find her later, he might get angry."

Stella's face turned even uglier.

Because she didn't dare to go against Aiden either.

Bianca stepped forward, "Mrs. Stella Brown, this is how Isabellas is. Please don't be angry with her because of me and my mother. How about I apologize to Isabella and see if I can calm her down?"

Hearing this, Stella's anger flared up even more. "She doesn't deserve your apology. Does she think she can compare to you?"

Bianca smiled awkwardly and walked towards Isabella.

When she was just a step away, she whispered so only the two of them could hear, "Isabella, I really admire you. Three years of a sexless marriage, plus the whole family being harsh to you, and you still managed to hold on. But Michael loves me, not you. Staying here only makes you an eyesore."

Isabella's voice was icy, "Are you looking for a fight?"

Bianca raised an eyebrow, "I don't believe you dare to hit me in front of everyone."

Just then Bianca's head was turned to the side by a slap, and before she could react, another loud slap followed.

"Didn't you think I wouldn't dare to hit you? Want now?"

Bianca's face swelled from the slaps, and facing Isabella's imposing aura, she instinctively stepped back.

She didn't know what she bumped into, but when she looked up, she saw Michael standing right in front of her.
