"You mind your own business!" Layla said with a huff, turning her face away from him.

"Don't force me to carry you." Samuel threatened, his tone leaving no room for further discussion.

Layla bit her lip. Damn it, she always ended up being controlled by him. Was there never a time when she wasn't under his control?

As soon as she extended her legs and her toes touched the ground, she was suddenly lifted off the ground. She gasped, instinctively clutching his arms. "Wasn't I getting out on my own?"

Samuel, concerned about her bare feet, replied immediately, "I like it this way!"

Layla hated his domineering manner the most. She gritted her teeth and retorted, "'Why not just make the world revolve around you, then?"

"If I want to, I can," he said arrogantly.

How shameless.

"You say no with your mouth, but you still hold on to me tightly." Samuel sneered.

Frowning in annoyance, Layla stared at him. Was he secretly laughing? The curve at the corner of his mouth hinted at mischief.

"Jerk, you're already so old, yet you still play these childish games."

She was the first to speak to him with such impudence.

But when she said it, with the tone of a petulant child, it had a certain charm to it, and he didn't dislike it. In fact, he found it somewhat amusing.

All the things he used to hate, when done by her, became adorable.

The little girl had a certain kind of charm. But she really didn't know how to distinguish what's good for her, she had a bad temper, and needed some "education".

To be precise, she only had a bad temper towards him. In front of other people, she was a little sweetheart.

Samuel carried Layla and quickly went upstairs. He kicked open the door and threw her onto the bed.

The force behind the punishment was a bit too much, causing Layla to bounce high on the bed and then get pinned down by his strong chest, trapped within his arms.

In front of her, his face was cold, dangerous, and it frightened her so much that she unconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Although they often argued, she was afraid of him, especially when he was this close. She felt restless and her heart seemed to be jumping out of her throat.

"What... what do you want? Don't do anything reckless." she stammered.

"What do I want? What do you think?" Samuel suddenly moved closer, and their noses touched.

Layla recoiled in fear, her eyes only able to focus on his dangerous face.

It was a face that was meticulously crafted, capable of making any woman scream. She wanted to scream now because she was going crazy.

She resisted with all her might, stammering a warning, "Don't you dare..."

"Warn me?" Samuel laughed as if he had heard a joke, coldly sneering. "What can you do to warn me?"

"I..." Layla licked her lips.

She widened her eyes in panic because this guy actually bit her tongue.

Every time she licked her lips, Samuel wanted to do that.

Layla tried to pull away, but her muffled protests were ineffective.

Samuel slightly bit and then released her tongue. Layla hurriedly withdrew her tongue, scolding him in embarrassment, "Are you a dog? That hurt."

"Now that you know it hurts, start behaving, or else next time, I'll bite your tongue right off."

Layla shrunk her neck, no longer daring to make a sound, as timid as a small turtle.

Seeing that she was scared, Samuel smiled satisfactorily, patted her head, and supported his strong body as he left.

"Damn it, you jerk!" Layla waved her fists at his back, but when he turned around, she quickly hid her hands behind her back.

Samuel smiled faintly and closed the door.

Turning around, Mr. Morris stood behind him. Samuel immediately restrained his smile, his face turning cold again.

But Mr. Morris still caught a glimpse of that hint of cheerfulness. Miss Adkins was the first woman to make Samuel smile.

Mr. Morris knew it in his heart, but he didn't bring it up with him directly.

"Sir, I saw Miss Adkins injured just now. Should I call a doctor?" Mr. Morris asked.

"Do you care about her?" Samuel had no expression on his face.

"I care for her on your behalf, Sir."

"Who said I care about her? It's none of your business." Samuel walked away in large steps and after a few steps, he ordered, "Bring a first aid kit." Then he entered the room and closed the door.

Mr. Morris couldn't help but suppress a laugh, "Yes, Sir."

"Argh, I'm so angry! What did I do wrong? Why does he have to mess with me like this!" Layla was furious and wanted to go into a rampage. She grabbed a pillow and beat it as if it were him, "I'll kill you, I'll kill you, you jerk!"

After venting for a while, she only exhausted herself and felt even more frustrated. Those fists should be landing on him, that would be satisfying.

It wasn't that she was too weak, but that man was too strong, and she couldn't compete with him.

Forget it, she didn't want to be so angry that she drove herself crazy.

Closing her eyes, Layla tried to suppress her anger.

I need to adjust my mood. I just need to focus on doing my work. I still have a survey report to write, but I don't have a computer... No, she would never knock on his door again. She had a feeling that if she went there tonight, she might not come back.

After a moment of thought, she could only use her phone to write. Layla opened the notepad and slowly typed, one character at a time. After writing only two lines, she was going insane. Typing on a phone was much slower than typing on a computer, and she usually found it tiring. She usually used the web page contacts instead.

"Hmm, my fingers are so sore." she grumbled with a bitter face. Her tongue hurt too. He must be a dog. Why bite her tongue? Isn't that too sensual of a gesture? Her heart skipped a beat, and her face couldn't help but turn red.

Layla hurriedly took her phone and tapped her face, saying to herself, "Don't think of those nauseating things, focus on work, work!"

It took her more than ten minutes to write only two to three hundred words. It seemed like she would have to write until dawn. Layla frustratingly grabbed a handful of hair.

A knock sounded on the door.

"Who is it?" she asked, her body tensing in alertness.

"Miss Adkins, it's me, Mr. Morris."

Layla breathed a sigh of relief, glad that it wasn't that person. Being so tense all the time, her heart would eventually develop problems.

"Come in." Layla said as she opened the door.

"Miss Adkins, Sir asked me to bring this to you." Mr. Morris handed her a computer, the latest model.

"A new one?" Layla thought, could it have intentionally been bought for her to use?

Mr. Morris noticed her questioning expression and proactively explained, "After you mentioned needing a computer last time, Sir had someone buy it for you."

Layla pursed her lips, thinking that he could try to bribe her with such small acts of kindness. Was she that easy to bribe? She didn't want it. "Tell him I don't need it."

"I can't make that decision, I am just the delivery man, you'll have to talk to Sir yourself."

"Do I look like I want to see him right now?"

"Sir never takes back things he gives away. If you don't want it, this computer will be thrown away." Mr. Morris said.

Hearing this, Layla quickly accepted it. "He's just too wasteful, isn't he? Computers cost several thousand dollars!"

Mr. Morris smiled. Several thousand dollars meant nothing to Samuel. It would be like one cent for an ordinary person. "Please make good use of it. And here's a first aid kit. Would you like me to help you apply the medicine or call a doctor?"

"It's just a scraped heel, nothing serious. I'll take care of it myself. Thank you." Layla took the first aid kit. She needed to take care of it, or else she wouldn't be able to walk properly tomorrow, affecting her work.

"You're welcome. Rest early, goodnight."
