The office fell into dead silence.
Adrian Sinclair turned and closed the distance between them.
Dark fire churned in his eyes.
His slender fingers clamped down on her shoulders.
The force was enough to make her wince in pain.
"Is this how badly you want to cut ties with me?"
His voice was dangerously low.
Each word seemed to be forced through gritted teeth.
Anna Ross couldn't break free.
She could only close her eyes.
"Yes."
He let out a cold laugh.
His usually cool eyes were now filled with anger.
"Don't you want money?"
"I have plenty."
"Let me be your sugar daddy."
"I'll ensure you never want for anything."
"All you have to do is please me."
Anna's stomach churned.
So this was what he meant by taking responsibility.
It was just another way to humiliate her even more.
She gave a bitter smile.
"Do you think that's appropriate, Mr. Sinclair?"
"You have a fiancée."
"What would she think if she found out?"
"How would Grandpa Frederick view you?"
She thought this would make him back down.
Instead, he chuckled darkly.
"Do I care about any of that?"
"What others think is none of my concern."
He leaned in closer.
"Name your price."
"How much to be with me?"
Anna's fingertips turned cold.
He was completely unreasonable.
"I don't have time for these games."
She turned to leave.
But he yanked her back.
"Is it because of Lucas Evans?"
His eyes turned to ice.
"How much is he giving you?"
"I'll double it."
A sharp pain pierced Anna's heart.
He always knew how to use money to humiliate her.
"Adrian Sinclair."
"Not everyone is as shameless as you."
She viciously shook off his hand.
She stormed out without looking back, slamming the door behind her.
