"Executive Assistant Ross, do you need something from Adrian?"

Anna Ross felt a surge of joy when the call connected.
She was about to speak but was cut off by that familiar female voice.
She was momentarily speechless.

"He's busy right now. We're discussing our wedding plans."
She deliberately left things ambiguous, inviting speculation.

"I'll hang up now."
After the call ended, she sat alone for a long time.
Logically, she should be relieved to hear about his impending marriage.

"Yes, they are so well-suited. I'm sure they both look forward to marrying soon."
