She looked up at the man across from her, a smile curling her lips.
"It's been so many years. You've only grown more charming."
Julian Garnache took a sip of his coffee.
He leaned back lazily in his chair, his gaze indifferent.
"You haven't changed at all."
Chloe's smile froze instantly.
She quickly composed herself, pretending to be casual as she played with her hair.
"I know. I've always been captivating."
Julian chuckled softly but didn't respond.
Chloe set down her cup and leaned forward slightly.
"I remember you saying you would never return to the country."
Her eyes held a probing curiosity.
"Coming back so suddenly... it couldn't be because of me, could it?"
She lifted her chin, a hint of smugness in her tone.
"I told you long ago, it's over between us."
"I hope you can accept reality and stop clinging to the past."
Julian suddenly laughed out loud.

He placed his hands on the table, looking directly into her eyes.
"Miss Valentine, you're being rather presumptuous."
"I returned simply because I felt like visiting."
Chloe's expression shifted.
She struggled to maintain her smile.

"If you hadn't insisted on meeting, I wouldn't even be here."
Chloe bit her lip.
She picked up her coffee and took a large gulp.
"That's for the best."
"I'm going to be the future Mrs. Sinclair soon."
"I don't want any unnecessary misunderstandings."
She deliberately adopted a haughty posture.
Hoping to see a look of disappointment on his face.

"Did you hear what I said?"
