Chloe Valentine's chest heaved with rage.
Hatred threatened to spill from her eyes.
Julian Garnache knew her too well.
His voice was cold as ice. "If you dare touch her, don't blame me for turning ruthless."
Chloe suddenly burst into laughter.
The sound was sharp and piercing.
Patrons around them turned to look.
She didn't care at all.
"I'm so delicate. How could I ever hurt anyone?"
She lifted her coffee cup and took a small sip.

This bitter coffee was once her favorite.

She waved for the server.
Ordered a new cup.

"You're really that hung up on Adrian Sinclair."

"If anyone dares to steal him, I'll make their life a living hell."

"If it's her, I'll only be more ruthless."
The new coffee arrived.
She took a sip.
Closed her eyes in satisfaction.
Replacing it was definitely better.
Julian's knuckles turned white.
"For the sake of our past, let her go."
Chloe acted like she'd heard the biggest joke.
"Are you begging me?"

Why did everyone protect Anna Ross?

"She's kindhearted. She wouldn't steal anyone from you."
Chloe slammed the table and stood up.
"She wouldn't? Hanging around Adrian all day, pretending to be pure!"

She turned and rushed out of the café.
