Anna Ross's back hit the cold wall.
She shuddered.
She looked at the man before her in terror. "What do you think you're doing?"
Fear pricked at every pore like fine needles.
This was a hallway.
Someone could walk by at any moment.
She pushed against him with all her strength.
Adrian Sinclair didn't budge.
He pressed closer instead.
He leaned in, his face nearing hers.
His gaze was dark.
His voice was hoarse. "Doing what?"
He let out a light laugh. "Giving you what you want, of course."
His eyes swept over her body with insolence.
His fingers lifted her chin.
He stroked it slowly.
Anna's eyes reddened with anger. "You're shameless!"
She turned her face away.
He forcefully turned it back.
She was forced to look directly into his deep eyes.
"Me? Shameless?" His tone was furious. "Why don't you take a look at yourself?"
He sneered. "You're quite skilled at seducing men."
His fingers tightened.
Anna gasped in pain.
"Got tired of the old one, so you moved on to a younger one so quickly?" He moved closer. "He seems to care about you a lot?"
She opened her mouth.
She wanted to explain.
But meeting his sinister gaze.
She swallowed all her words.
It was useless to speak.
He never believed her.
He would only humiliate her further.
Adrian saw her silence.
An inexplicable irritation rose in him.
He would rather she argued.
