Adrian Sinclair withdrew his gaze.
He turned a cold stare toward the person beside him.
Chloe Valentine's heart skipped a beat.
She instinctively released his arm.
His eyes held clear anger.
Her chest heaved with emotion.
"Adrian," she demanded, her voice trembling. "Do you doubt me?"
He let out a cold scoff.
Shaking off her hand, he walked away without another word.
Chloe suddenly laughed.

She was surprised to find Noah Watson there as well.
"Executive Assistant Ross," he greeted with a smile. "What a coincidence."
The wind tugged at their clothes.
Anna walked to the railing.
The cool breeze made her eyes feel dry.
Noah offered her a drink.
"Here," he said.
She accepted it quietly. "Thank you."
"What brings you up here, Assistant Watson?"
Noah sighed.
"Just needed some air. Things have been hectic lately."
Anna sipped her drink in silence.
Her own mind had been troubled recently.
Now she finally understood why.
Yet she felt utterly superfluous.
Noah studied her carefully.
His brow suddenly furrowed.
"Executive Assistant Ross," he said slowly. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before."
"Aren't we colleagues?" Anna found it amusing.
"No, that's not what I mean." He looked at her intently. "You seemed familiar from our first meeting."
Anna shook her head.
"You must be mistaken." She had been living in San Francisco before this.
Noah suddenly snapped his fingers.
"I remember now!" he exclaimed.
"I saw your photo in Mr. Sinclair's office!"
Anna froze.
She said nothing.
Noah continued.
"That photo was taken on a rooftop too."
"The person in it was smiling brightly."
"Quite different from how you look now."
He had often seen his boss staring at that photo.
But it was always quickly put away.
After a moment of silence, Anna spoke softly.
"It must be Miss Valentine, right?"
"They're getting engaged soon."
Noah shook his head firmly.
"I'm certain it wasn't Miss Valentine."
